The National Health and Wellness Commission issued 17 new national food safety standards.

  CCTV News:National Health Commission website information, recently, according to the provisions of the Food Safety Law, the National Health and Wellness Commission and the General Administration of Market Supervision jointly issued Announcement No.8 in 2021, releasing 17 new national food safety standards and one amendment.

  The national food safety standards published this time fully consider the health rights and interests of the people, take into account the development needs of the food industry, refer to relevant international laws and regulations and common practices, and fully solicit the opinions of all sectors of society and notify the WTO in the process of formulating and revising the standards for food safety supervision.

  It mainly includes two microbial limit standards, such as the Limit of Pathogenic Bacteria in prepackaged foods (GB 29921-2021), one food product standard, five-carbon diacetal (also known as glutaraldehyde) (GB 1886.349-2021) and six food additive quality specification standards. There are three quality specifications of nutritional fortifier, such as food nutritional fortifier hemin chloride (GB 1903.52-2021), five inspection methods and standards, such as determination of total mercury and organic mercury in food (GB 5009.17-2021), and amendment No.1 of General Rules for Sports Nutritional Food (GB 24154-2015).
